Create and Launch Your Own Business

Take a deep dive into the entrepreneurial process from scratch to a business plan over two weeks of learning using the most successful tools, methodologies, and case studies. Each week concludes with a pitch session where your business idea is showcased to the class, staff, and parents.

Week 1, Intro to Entrepreneurship and Business Ideation: The course begins with basic principles of how to come up with a business idea, concepts of design thinking, and business modeling, including case studies from successful global startups. Students learn how to work as a team to create meaningful social and economic value, how to conduct market research, how to prototype a product or a service, and how to test the market fit. Finally, students present each of their business ideas during a pitch session.

Week 2, Launch and Scale up your Business: During the second week, students learn about management and execution and also fundamentals how to scale up their businesses. Students will learn fundraising strategies and how to present their business to investors. Students will use the tools and methodologies used by successful entrepreneurs.

About The Startup Academy

Entrepreneurs are made, not born. This course was developed and designed in coordination with educational developers of business schools, industry advisors, and students. While spending two weeks building their ideas into real businesses, students will develop an Entrepreneurial mindset exploring, researching, testing, and launching a new business. Students will work independently and with other students to think and execute with a problem-solving mindset. They will know how to come up with a business idea, test the market fit and develop a go to market strategy to scale up globally.

The Teen Experience: Since 2002, Digital Media Academy has been encouraging and inspiring teens to become the next generation of developers, animators, filmmakers, photographers, designers and engineers. In addition to developing teens’ interests and passions for the latest in new tech, our camps foster personal growth, confidence, and independence; preparing students for life beyond high school and college.

Friday Showcase

At the end of each week, attendees can invite their family and friends to join us for a showcase celebration to share their final projects. Learn more about the fun and exciting activities your child experienced during the week and have an opportunity to meet your child’s instructor. Presentations vary by course topic and instructors will highlight some of the important concepts covered during the week and possible next steps to continue your child’s learning. Arrive early as showcase begins at 3:00 pm and is typically finished by 4:00 pm.

 

 

Camp Upgrades

Lunch Plan

Get lunch on campus so you don’t have to pack your own. Lunch Plans are $95/week.

Overnight Housing

Stay in the dorms and eat on-campus, Sunday through Friday. Overnight Housing starts at $695/week.

Weekend Stay

Add Weekend Stay and enjoy extra activities and day trips around the area. Weekend Stay starts at $380/weekend.

Extended Day

Our flexible Extended Day option allows families to pick-up students as late as 6:00 PM from Monday to Thursday.
