Code and Design Your Own Game

Python powers much of web and many other things. Learn how to create programming variables, loops and functions – all while making an asteroid collide with a ship or programming the AI (artificial intelligence) of an enemy opponent! Create sprites, animations, and levels for 2D games. Design characters, enemies and more. You’ll learn to create games similar to Agar.io, Space Invaders, Flappy Bird, Cookie Clicker, or any game you think you can create! Then learn how to share it with your friends!

More About This Course

Code runs your devices and the world. Our Programming courses prepare students with the skills they need to develop their own apps and games in languages such as C#, Python, and Swift. In the Game Programming with Python course, students will gain an understanding of programming work flows and the elements of game development needed to make an exciting, challenging and rewarding playable 2D game. They will leave camp with a game to take home and play solo or with friends!

Camp Upgrades

Lunch Plan

Get lunch on campus so you don’t have to pack your own. Lunch Plans start at $75/week at select locations.

Overnight Housing

Stay in the dorms and eat on-campus, Sunday through Friday. Overnight Housing is $695/week where available.

Weekend Stay

Add Weekend Stay and enjoy extra activities and day trips around the area. Weekend Stay is $395/weekend at select locations.

DMA Online

Frequently Asked Questions

If a student already has some experience, are different skill levels accommodated in the course?

Instructors and TAs are always willing to modify and customize curriculum to make sure that all students are engaged and challenged. The first day or so will be utilized to gauge students’ individual skills and strengths. We also have advanced extensions for every course, so teachers can challenge advanced students.
