Teen One-Week Camp | Ages 12-17

Jump into Computer Science this Summer

Jump into Computer Science as you learn to use Processing commands to understand the basics of programming and create original drawings and animations. By the end of the first week, students will discover Object Oriented programming in Java to create multi-class games or applications. Students will then get the chance to dive deeper into the topics of programming, learning 2D arrays and techniques to create Conway’s game of life, a music visualizer, and more. Each student will also use their creativity to create their own creative application.

What Students Learn

Computer programming code runs your devices and the world. Our Programming courses prepare students with the skills they need to develop their own apps and games in languages such as C#, Java, and Swift. In the AI and Machine Learning course, students will take a deep dive into the complex algorithms that are making computers smarter than ever. Use neural nets to finally beat that game you’ve never been able to or improve projects using computer vision to find patterns.

The Teen Experience: Since 2002, Digital Media Academy has been encouraging and inspiring teens to become the next generation of developers, animators, filmmakers, photographers, designers and engineers. In addition to developing teens’ interests and passions for the latest in new tech, our camps foster personal growth, confidence, and independence; preparing students for life beyond high school and college.
