Mix and Master Your Own Music

Music is a powerful part of the human collective experience and like so much of our lives these days music is increasingly expanding it’s boundaries thanks to technology. Students will learn the creative process of songwriting and the technical theory behind modern day music and songs. At the beginning of the week, students will understand the process of music production, essential music theory, and how to compose music.

Later in the week, students will learn how to combine different types of sounds that are inspired by styles of music and how to record and edit a live performance in Ableton Live 10. Students will learn advanced music production and audio engineering techniques. By the end of the week students will have composed and produced their own song, and will have applied advanced concepts of music production.

Students are required to bring headphones. Experience with Digital Audio Workstations is helpful, but not required.

About Music Production Courses

Our Music Production camps equip students with the skills to create exciting, unique compositions and pursue careers in the music industry as producers and artists. This course teaches students the techniques of professional producers as they finalize their compositions and apply equalization, panning, time & space effects, and automation to their tracks. You’ll use your very own tracks or pre-made sessions to explore industry-standard plug-ins and leave the week with a polished composition ready for Soundcloud.  Explore more music production courses.

Friday Showcase

At the end of each week, attendees can invite their family and friends to join us for a showcase celebration to share their final projects. Learn more about the fun and exciting activities your child experienced during the week and have an opportunity to meet your child’s instructor. Presentations vary by course topic and instructors will highlight some of the important concepts covered during the week and possible next steps to continue your child’s learning. Arrive early as showcase begins at 3:00 and is typically finished by 4:00.

Camp Upgrades

Get the most out of your summer with Digital Media Academy when you add any or all of the following:

Lunch Plan

Make things easy and get lunch on campus so you don’t have to pack your own. Lunch Plans start at $95/week at select locations.

Overnight Housing

Stay in the dorms and eat on-campus, Sunday through Friday. Overnight Housing starts at $695/week where available.

Extended Day

Our flexible Extended Day option allows families to pick-up students as late as 6:00 PM from Monday to Thursday at all locations.

Weekend Stay

Add Weekend Stay and enjoy extra activities and day trips around the area. Weekend Stay starts at $380/weekend at select locations.
