Electronic Music Production with Ableton

Produce Your Own Beats and EDM Tracks

Using Ableton Live, create hard-hitting music tracks that move the crowd. Learn electronic music production concepts, including composition, sound design, sampling, form and style. Experiment with layering, mixing, sampling and other professional techniques. Make booming bass lines, drum loops and beat drops. Plus, you’ll go beyond the technical skills and learn about the different types of sounds and patterns used in electronic dance music (EDM), like House, Trap, Dubstep and more. You’ll walk out with the knowledge of how to create a track from start to finish, with an original and remix to show for it!

Our Music Production courses give students a real-world experience with workflows in modern music production. They’ll learn how to record, mix, edit, and produce their own digital tracks. The Electronic Music Production with Ableton course gives students an extensive look at Ableton Live, a powerful live mixing and music production software that allows them to create tracks in their favorite genres while learning how to use drum machines and MIDI keyboards to bring the house down.

The Teen Experience: Since 2002, DMA has been encouraging and inspiring teens to become the next generation of developers, animators, filmmakers, photographers, designers and engineers. In addition to developing teens’ interests and passions for the latest in new tech, our camps foster personal growth, confidence, and independence; preparing students for life beyond high school and college.

Lunch Plan

Get lunch on campus so you don’t have to pack your own. Lunch Plans start at $75/week at select locations.

Overnight Housing

Stay in the dorms and eat on-campus, Sunday through Friday. Overnight Housing is $695/week where available.

Weekend Stay

Add Weekend Stay and enjoy extra activities and day trips around the area. Weekend Stay is $395/weekend at select locations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are students limited in what songs they can use or will they be making their own?

You will both sample and remix existing songs, as well as create an original from raw sounds (such as combining a cymbal and a bass drum) from Ableton’s library of sounds.
