Produce and Mix Your Own Beats

Explore professional music production as you learn how to use the most important tools of the industry, like Ableton Live. Create and modify sounds while learning layering, mixing, and sampling. You’ll program your own beats while making digital music.

Week 1, Electronic Music Production with Ableton: The course guides students in structuring a song, recreating sounds they hear, and building their own unique tracks. Topics covered include recording and audio sampling, advanced synth building, drum programming, improvisation, and an introduction to basic mixing and mastering.

Week 2, Audio Engineering & Song Writing: This course ensures students understand the process of music production, essential music theory, and how to compose music. Students will learn advanced music production and audio engineering techniques. By the end of the week, students will have composed and produced their own song and will have applied advanced concepts of music production.

More About This Course

Our Music Production camps equip students with the skills they will need to create exciting, unique compositions and pursue careers in the music industry as producers and artists. This Electronic Music Production Academy will teach students the fundamental skills needed to explore the increasingly popular world of digital music production. Students will dive deep into different electronic music genres and experiment with professional techniques, with guidance from experienced instructors. This course is excellent for students interested in pursuing an academic or career path in Music Production, and students will take home a portfolio that can even be used in college and internship applications.

The Teen Experience: Since 2002, Digital Media Academy has been encouraging and inspiring teens to become the next generation of developers, animators, filmmakers, photographers, designers, and engineers. In addition to developing teens’ interests and passions for the latest in new tech, our camps foster personal growth, confidence, and independence; preparing students for life beyond high school and college.

Friday Showcase

At the end of each week, attendees can invite their family and friends to join us for a showcase celebration to share their final projects. Learn more about the fun and exciting activities your child experienced during the week and have an opportunity to meet your child’s instructor. Presentations vary by course topic and instructors will highlight some of the important concepts covered during the week and possible next steps to continue your child’s learning. Arrive early as showcase begins at 3:00 and is typically finished by 4:00.

Lunch Plan

Make things easy and get lunch on campus so you don’t have to pack your own. Lunch Plans start at $68/week at select locations.

Overnight Housing

Stay in the dorms and eat on-campus, Sunday through Friday. Overnight Housing starts at $675/week where available.

Extended Day

Our flexible Extended Day option allows families to pick-up students as late as 6:00 PM from Monday to Thursday at all locations.

Weekend Stay

Add Weekend Stay and enjoy extra activities and day trips around the area. Weekend Stay starts at $405/weekend at select locations.
