Made By Girls: Game Design with Unity

Teen One-Week Camp  Ages 12-17

Design and Build Your Own Game

Build the games, characters, stories, and worlds you want to see! Learn the essentials of game design by harnessing the power of the Unity Game Engine. Master creating game environments and levels. Get an introduction to game design concepts such as user experience design and beta testing. Learn the basics of programming and object oriented design in the C# programming language.

Unlike our co-ed Game Design with Unity course, this Made By Girls course is developed exclusively for girls and is led by a female instructional team dedicated to serving as mentors and role models. Both courses share the same goals for building fundamental game design skills, however the MBG courses emphasize mentorship and building community among girls.

More About This Course

Our Game Design courses teach students how to create their own video games. They’ll design levels, characters, and full games using tools such as the Unreal or Unity game engines. The Game Design with Unity class goes in-depth in game design fundamentals, teaching students how to design, code, and improve their 2D or 3D games. They’ll be responsible for every aspect of their game as they manage assets and take feedback based on user playtesting until they have their very own game, playable on a PC or mobile device.

The Made By Girls Experience: DMA’s Made By Girls program offers a unique learning experience designed to introduce girls to STEM learning in a collaborative and supportive environment. MBG is powered by a dynamic group of role models including educators, industry leaders, and creators, who inspire our students to build both 21st century skills and confidence.
