Design and Mod Minecraft Levels and Games

Welcome to the world of Minecraft! At the beginning of the week, students will master the skills of building in Minecraft, practicing their level design skills. Later in the week, students will make use of Redstone and logic to create their own minigames and worlds. Finally, students will pool their creations together in a classwide project of mini-games!

Our game design courses introduce the students to the game design cycle, where they’ll enter through an iterative creative process with their team to create anything their imagination can come up with. Our Jr. Adventures in Minecraft Game Design students have all the passion, we’re just looking to help give them the tools to customize their world, allowing them to be as creative as they want!

The Adventures Experience: Our Jr. Adventures program introduces our youngest campers, ages 7-9, to STEM fundamentals with the same project-based learning approach as our advanced learners.

They are similar in that they both are teaching kids how to create a video game, but our Minecraft class has a larger focus on game design principles, while Game Coding class has a larger focus on introducing kids to programming.

Friday Showcase

At the end of each week, attendees can invite their family and friends to join us for a showcase celebration to share their final projects. Learn more about the fun and exciting activities your child experienced during the week and have an opportunity to meet your child’s instructor. Presentations vary by course topic and instructors will highlight some of the important concepts covered during the week and possible next steps to continue your child’s learning. Arrive early as showcase begins at 3:00 and is typically finished by 4:00.
