Develop a Game with a Studio of Peers

This is the closest you can get to working in a real game studio. In this course, you’ll be led through the entire game development process by a professional game developer. Using the Unity game engine, work with your classmates to make a whole game from start to finish based on a potential client’s expectations. Whether the game works in AR, VR, Mobile, or PC, you and your team will have to decide the best way to solve the problems at hand and present your work. While you’re creating, you’ll learn skills like programming in C#, level design, playtesting, sound design, and acquiring and manipulating 3D and 2D assets. As you learn, students will fall into roles and teams to focus on an aspect of the game that can be brought together into a completed game.

More About This Course

Our Game Design courses teach students how to create their own video games. They’ll design levels, characters, and full games using tools such as the Unreal or Unity game engines. The Studios: Game Development course goes in-depth in game design, teaching students how to design, code, and polish a full, deliverable, game. They’ll be responsible for every aspect of their game as they manage assets and take feedback based on user playtesting until they have their very own game, playable on a PC, mobile, or VR device.

The Studios Experience: The Studios experience is designed to take students’ knowledge and passion for creation and technology to the next level. Through this uniquely designed two-week Studios experience – students are given the opportunity to create professional-level work in a simulated, professional studio environment. Students will be led by experienced game designers and inspired by industry professionals.
