Design and Build a Game with Stencyl

Showcase your personality by creating a game that’s as unique as yourself. Learn how to bring your ideas and stories to life.

Discover the immersive world of game development and learn key game design principles including game theory, character creation, digital storytelling, and publishing. You’ll build and customize game elements using Adobe Photoshop and practice problem-solving. You’ll design creative solutions in a supportive community of burgeoning designers. At the end of the week, you can take your creation home to share with friends and family.

Students in this course will receive a free one year license for Adobe Creative Cloud!

More About This Course

Students who have taken our coding and game development courses told us they want more game design, so more game design it is. This course offers a great introduction to the principles of game design including interactive storytelling, character creation, and publishing. Our hands-on, design thinking approach encourages students to unleash their inner designer as well as work collaboratively with other students as they create mobile video games that can be uploaded onto an iPhone or iPad.

The Adventures Experience: Our Adventures camps give elementary level students, ages 9-12, a meaningful, hands-on introduction to the fundamentals of technology and design-thinking methodology; challenging them to collaborate with their fellow campers to create solutions to real-world problems.

Friday Showcase

At the end of each week, attendees can invite their family and friends to join us for a showcase celebration to share their final projects. Learn more about the fun and exciting activities your child experienced during the week and have an opportunity to meet your child’s instructor. Presentations vary by course topic and instructors will highlight some of the important concepts covered during the week and possible next steps to continue your child’s learning. Arrive early as showcase begins at 3:00 and is typically finished by 4:00.

Lunch Plan

Make things easy and get lunch on campus so you don’t have to pack your own. Lunch Plans start at $95/week at select locations.

Extended Stay

Our flexible Extended Day option allows families to pick-up students as late as 6:00 PM from Monday to Thursday at all locations.
