Combine learning surfing and filmmaking into one exciting summer camp experience. Each morning, you’ll be immersed in the basics of surfing and ocean safety under the guidance of surfing pros, while you’ll spend the afternoon editing video of that day’s surf action.

Learn how to capture your action sports experience using high-definition Canon® cameras and edit your original footage using industry-standard software program Final Cut Pro® X.  Not only will you have the opportunity to learn surfing tricks and ocean safety, you will also gain real world production experience.

* Students must be able to swim and bring their own swimwear. By enrolling in this course, teens and parents understand, agree to and accept the risks associated.

Filmmaking at DMA

DMA filmmaking students will learn the filmmaking process start to finish, getting to work with passionate Instructors and creative classmates. From developing a storyline, learning the coolest angles to film and editing to finally producing their own movie, our surfing teens even get the chance to be star of their own show!

Professional surf instructors both provide personalized instruction and ensure the safety of each and every student. In addition, DMA’s own staff members are CPR-certified and are required to complete extensive additional safety training.
