Jr. Adventures in Acting & Filmmaking
Film. Edit. Inspire.
Bring your story to life as you learn how to shoot and edit movies and express yourself through acting, while exploring different filmmaking techniques. Work with classmates as part of a production team to develop a story idea and capture exciting movie footage with dynamic camera angles using Apple® iPad®. Then add drama to your movie by adding music and unique audio and visual effects using Apple® iMovie®. Screen your original movie at the end of the week in a small film-festival-like atmosphere and leave camp with all the tools you need to bring your stories to the screen. Find this camp near you >>

Our Jr. Adventures program introduces our youngest campers, ages 6-8, to STEM fundamentals with the same project-based learning approach as our advanced learners.

Frequently Asked Questions
My child wants to continue editing his/her film after camp. Do we get to keep the software?
Unfortunately, no. DMA obtains the rights to use the software on our workstations during camp weeks only. However, iMovie® comes pre-installed on most Macs. You may also purchase iMovie® from the Apple® App Store.
Will my student be working alone on his/her film?
Students work in production teams to make a movie, carrying out the jobs (like director, cameraperson, script supervisor) required on set. After filming, each student has the opportunity to edit their own version of the movie.
