Script. Film. Edit.
Delve into the filmmaking process from pre to post production during two weeks of learning using Canon® cameras and Final Cut Pro® X. Each week concludes with a screening event where your film is showcased to the class, staff and parents.
Week 1: During week one you’ll learn to write a script, operate a high definition camera, make edits using professional video editing software, and optimize films for video sharing sites such as YouTube.
Week 2: During week two, learn about high end audio and lighting kits, cinematic nuances such as color grading, and add visual effects and motion graphics.

Film + Photography
Our filmmaking courses allow teens to team up with like-minded peers to express their own voice and creativity through film. Go beyond basic filmmaking techniques to discover how to add cinematic nuance and excitement to films through visual and audio effects, and dramatic camera angles. Our Academy for Digital Filmmaking is excellent for students interested in pursuing a career in filmmaking or looking to gain expert tips and mentorship. Students can even include their original short films in internship and college applications!
The Academy Experience
Our Academies are pairings of two complementary courses, designed to accelerate student proficiency and knowledge in each of our course categories. From week one to week two, students take a deeper dive into the topic, expanding upon their new skills and creating more advanced projects and portfolios.
