About Digital Media Academy
Experience The Best Tech Camps Ever
Digital Media Academy was born at Stanford University in 1999 as the Academy for New Media, a program owned and operated by the Academic Technology department at Stanford University.
In 2002, Digital Media Academy became a private institution, sponsored by the Stanford University Continuing Studies department. Since then, we have set out to be the thought-leader in tech education for kids and teens at prestigious universities across the U.S. and Canada. Our instructors and curriculum developers include industry professionals and outstanding technology educators, with a driving passion for inspiring, teaching, and mentoring.

Students ♥ Summer at DMA
At Digital Media Academy, student satisfaction is our number one priority. We make it our mission to provide a memorable and rewarding summer camp experience for all students.
Thanks to our amazing instructors, technology partners, and dedicated staff, 99.6% of our students give us a 4.5/5 or above in overall student satisfaction. That’s what the students are saying – what will you create this summer?
Balanced Learning Experience
At DMA, it’s amazing to see how much kids learn and develop during a single week. Our goals are to mentor students into becoming lifelong learners and instill a strong sense of accomplishment within each one of them.
We also strongly believe in a well-balanced camp experience. In addition to class time, we provide Adventures campers with multiple unplugged outside breaks each day. During these breaks, we offer a wide range of recreational, team-based, and character-building activities. We see this as the perfect opportunity to help campers make new friends and increase their personal confidence.
Instructors + Role Models
DMA’s instructors include highly respected tech educators, accomplished artists, and industry professionals who have a passion for sharing their knowledge.
Each course is taught by one of our lead instructors with the support of teaching assistants, ensuring that our student-to-staff ratios stay low and that learning is a personalized experience. Not only is our summer team passionate about tech learning, many of them are DMA alumni themselves! Many of our students have gone on to become teaching assistants, instructors, and camp directors. Project-Based Learning + Design Thinking
Our project-based approach to learning sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and fosters teamwork as students seek solutions to real-world problems.
At the end of each course, students go home with a completed project in addition to their new skills and experience in technology and personal development. DMA’s immersive courses bring like-minded students together to inspire one another, and explore their passion through creating.
Safety Matters at Camp
Your child’s safety is our top priority. Which is why we require all staff to pass complete Federal background checks in addition to First-Aid and CPR training so that you feel confident that they are ready to respond, no matter the situation.
Each camp location has security protocols in place to ensure that our students are safe and protected on campus, in the classroom, and on their computers at all times. If you ever have a concern, your child’s camp director is always only a phone call away.
Partnerships + Technology
We’re incredibly fortunate to have a long list of tech and education partners to help our make our camps amazing. With partners like Canon, Ultimaker, and Ableton, our students take advantage of exclusive discounts, attend events, and more.
Thanks to our technology partnerships, we are able to provide the latest in tech from virtual reality to 3D printers, cameras, and beyond. Students learn on the most trusted, highest quality technology. See a list of the tech used at DMA summer camps.
