Have a passion for fashion? Design clothing like a pro in 3D and build light-up accessories that blink and glow with Lilypad Arduino! This course explores where design and technology intersect. Learn the engineering design process using 3D modeling software to create your very own virtual clothing and digital patterns. Discover how to combine hands-on design and crafting techniques with circuits, electronics and Arduino™ programming to create personalized e-textiles or unique accessories using your new skills in design and engineering.

Learning Outcomes

You’ll learn the design engineering process as you take on the basics of Arduino programming and virtual clothing design.

Each student will create a piece of wearable technology and a digital portfolio of virtual fashion.

3D Modeling + Design

This Adventures course introduces girls to a wide variety of tech and design concepts from programming and circuitry to 3D modeling and design. Infused with design-thinking methodology, our curriculum introduces these younger students to many of the same concepts as our more advanced learners as they work collaboratively to design, prototype, and refine their projects.
