3D Printing & Product Design

Teen One-Week Camp  Ages 12-17

Design and Print Your Own 3D Models

Discover 3D printing and how 3D printing is changing our future. We’ll follow the same processes an industrial designer goes through to create a product: Sketch your ideas out on paper, turn your sketch into a 3D model in CAD programs on the computer, and then bring your idea to life by 3D printing your 3D model. We’ll also learn the “Design Thinking” process taught by Stanford University.

In partnership with Ultimaker, we are proud to offer our students access to the highest rated prosumer 3D printer to use throughout the course.

More About This Course

Our 3D Modeling + Design camps prepare students with the skills they will need working in a professional 3D modeling, animation, and design environment. Our 3D Printing & Product Design course gives students a look into the process of an industrial designer as they create 3D models using CAD software. Students will turn their ideas into reality and rapidly prototype their designs using an Ultimaker 3D printer. By the end of the week, students will understand the engineering and design process as well as discover how 3D printing is changing our future.

The Teen Experience: Our Since 2002, DMA has been encouraging and inspiring teens to become the next generation of developers, animators, filmmakers, photographers, designers and engineers. In addition to developing teens’ interests and passions for the latest in new tech, our camps foster personal growth, confidence, and independence; preparing students for life beyond high school and college.
