Create an Animation and Illustration Portfolio

This course will teach students how to be a production artist. Students will use art production tools Toon Boom Harmony and Adobe Photoshop to create production-ready assets and learn the ins and outs of being on the front lines of a production studio.

Students will learn tools like X-Sheets, node viewers, character rigging, and camera controls to be an effective production artist. Turn your passion for cartoons and illustrations into a career with 2D animation production.

Students will build a repertoire of production-ready assets like characters, backgrounds, and props that can be used as a high-level portfolio piece. They’ll acquire the skills needed to become not only pros with the software but pros in the industry.

Students in this course will receive a one year license for Adobe Creative Cloud!

More About This Course

Our 3D Modeling + Design courses prepare students with the skills they will need working in professional modeling, illustration, animation, and environmental design. The ALL NEW 2D Animation Production and Digital Illustration course takes students deep into digital illustration and animation using Adobe Photoshop and Toon Boom Harmony. Students will explore professional workflows as they develop animation and illustration skills working on original projects. You’ll complete the week by putting together a portfolio of your work that can be shared with friends and family or included with a college submission.

Friday Showcase

At the end of each week, attendees can invite their family and friends to join us for a showcase celebration to share their final projects. Learn more about the fun and exciting activities your child experienced during the week and have an opportunity to meet your child’s instructor. Presentations vary by course topic and instructors will highlight some of the important concepts covered during the week and possible next steps to continue your child’s learning. Arrive early as showcase begins at 3:00 and is typically finished by 4:00.

Lunch Plan

Make things easy and get lunch on campus so you don’t have to pack your own. Lunch Plans start at $95/week at select locations.

Overnight Housing

Stay in the dorms and eat on-campus, Sunday through Friday. Overnight Housing starts at $695/week where available.

Extended Day

Our flexible Extended Day option allows families to pick-up students as late as 6:00 PM from Monday to Thursday at all locations.

Weekend Stay

Add Weekend Stay and enjoy extra activities and day trips around the area. Weekend Stay starts at $380/weekend at select locations.
