Teen Movie Camp and Digital Filmmaking Experience

A two-week, hands-on professional digital filmmaking experience. Learn storytelling through film from professional filmmakers. Use HD video cameras and lighting equipment while experiencing every stage of production, including planning, scripting, shooting and advanced editing. Explore complex visual effects and motion graphics, along with professional audio capture and editing.

The program concludes with a screening event during which each student’s film is presented to the class and staff. An incredible opportunity to receive professional critiques and get feedback and praise from peers.

• How to make professional looking films using HD cameras & pro gear
• Stages of production, basic & advanced scriptwriting & storyboarding
• Using microphones and basic & advanced audio-recording techniques
• Camera techniques, white balance, shutter speed, exposure & more
• Basic & advanced video editing techniques using Final Cut Pro®
• Motion graphics and visual effects using Final Cut Pro®
• Outputting media for web, YouTube, mobile devices and DVD

Course may vary slightly based on student expertise & class interest. All students work on their own personal projects, which they keep.

This camp is designed for aspiring filmmakers who want to learn how to make a movie at film camp. Just beginning to explore filmmaking? Want to learn more about all the aspects of production—scripting, shooting, visual effects, motion graphics, professional audio capture, editing and graphics—do you eventually want to pursue a career in the movie industry? This program is for you.

For filmmakers who want extended hands-on learning with professional video cameras, lighting equipment and film production software, such as Final Cut Pro X® and After Effects®.
