Create Your Own Movie Featuring Hollywood-Caliber Special Effects
Students explore the art of digital filmmaking while learning special effects and high-end post-production polish. A great introduction to the technical aspects of filmmaking, including everything from screenwriting and storyboarding, to importing and editing video.
This academy combines curriculum from the following courses:
Week One: Digital Filmmaking – Beginning – Students learn screenwriting, storyboarding, and importing and editing video. This hands-on digital filmmaking experience gives future filmmakers a comprehensive look behind the scenes of the business of making movies. Working under the guidance of professional filmmakers who share their extensive knowledge, students create their own short films.
Week Two: Visual Effects for Filmmaking – A special effects experience that teaches post-production skills: compositing, color correction, motion tracking and 3D graphics like backgrounds, characters and objects.

For filmmakers interested in making both films and special effects. For those who want to get a behind-the-scenes look at how special effects are created and integrated into films and learn how to create their own. This hands-on experience demonstrates the same tools industry professionals use and provides expert guidance so students can make the most of those tools.
For writers and creators who want to master the basics of screenwriting and storyboarding for film, and how to import, process and edit video.
