Experience a digital media camp that combines the exciting worlds of surfing and filmmaking. Campers spend half of each day in the ocean learning or improving their surfing skills, then spend the other half of the day in a state-of-the-art classroom studio creating an incredible video of the experience.

While at the beach, you’ll learn how to handle a surfboard, ocean safety and surfing basics. Learn how to catch a wave, get surf tips from professional surfers, along with special tricks and maneuvers to be the best. In the video studio campers learn how to edit the footage they’ve shot and integrate it with sound and special effects to create a great surf video. All students go home with awesome new surfing skills and their very own surfing video.

• Surfboard-handling techniques & surf etiquette

Course may vary slightly based on student expertise & class interest. All students work on their own personal projects, which they keep.

Ages 8-12 | Beginning to Advanced | No Surfing or Filmmaking Experience Required

Active campers and watersports enthusiasts eager to learn how to handle a surfboard and video camera. For those who enjoy the water and want to learn to develop or sharpen their surfing skills, this camp delivers all that and more. You’ll learn the basics of surfing and ocean safety during the morning session, while in the afternoon learn how to edit together video of the day’s action.

Learn how to capture your experience using state-of-the-art HD video cameras and industry standard software like Final Cut Pro®.

Participants need to be able to swim.
