Kids: Adventures in Engineering and Rocket Science
Discover How Electronic Circuits, Architecture and Rocket Science Work!
Using both computer programs and hands-on experiments, kids learn about electrical engineering, structural design and space flight. It’s a chance to introduce kids to a wide range of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) subjects while exploring the science behind electronics, architecture and flight.
Campers learn about electronics and electrical engineering in the online circuitry lab and make real circuits using littleBits, a simple, small and intuitive creation block system that makes creating electronic gadgets easy! They also get to be rocket scientists and launch virtual rockets into space using Kerbal Space Program, which teaches kids about space flight physics. Then they design, build and launch a real rocket!
Using West Point Bridge Maker, kids also get to design and build a bridge. Finally, they take a field trip around campus to view and discuss architecture and design and then build a Ferris wheel using K’NEX©.
