For Adults: Web Design and Development with Flash CS4

Introductory Flash and ActionScript training with Adobe CS4

In this project-based class, students will develop an engaging, feature-rich Flash website while learning workflow strategies and best practices for creating content, importing images, working with type, symbols, instances and tweening. Professional production techniques will be explored, including animated elements, rollover buttons, slideshows, encoding flash video and integrating sound. Students will also be introduced to ActionScript 3, including basic syntax and scripts for interactivity, and Photoshop CS4 for graphic production and image editing. Learning will be weaved with an individual project to give students a practical outcome from the week.

This course is designed for individuals with little or no Flash experience, with the goal of providing a supportive environment and hands-on practice to encourage creative success in Flash. A recommended followup course for those wishing to explore ActionScript in more depth is Flash ActionScript and Programming.
