Dreamweaver 8:
Course Overview
Advanced Dreamweaver training in Harstville, South Carolina. In this exciting web design course, you’ll learn to apply the advanced features of Dreamweaver 8 that will take you to the next level in web development.
You’ll learn how to use timesaving productivity techniques such as cascading style sheets, snippets and library items. Class work includes professional web design strategies including Photoshop slicing, advanced table styling, CSS page layout and inserting metatags.
To add interactivity to your web pages, you’ll practice adding Dreamweaver’s compound behaviors, popup menus and Flash buttons. Utilizing prewritten Javascript code, you will learn to incorporate a slideshow, a rotating image animation, an encrypted password page and mouse trail effects. The class also includes a session on designing and implementing an e-mail form using a free online form service.
Thursday and Friday are devoted to working on your own final Dreamweaver project with instructor guidance. Suggested Dreamweaver training projects include: a school web site, an online portfolio, a creative photo essay, a business promo site, a personal blog, or even a makeover for an existing site. Bring any photos, artwork or text you may want to incorporate into your final project. Content for final projects will be available to those who wish to use it. At the end of the week, you’ll have your own completed website to show off to your friends and colleagues.
Each student will work on her/his own computer in one of our state of-the-art academic classrooms. If you can stay for more than one week we recommend that you follow this Dreamweaver training course with Adobe Photoshop for in-depth training in image editing and web graphics.
Prerequisites
Upon entering Dreamweaver II, you are expected to know some web fundamentals: saving GIFs and JPGs, basic HTML tags, inserting images and text, creating links, basic tables and uploading files to a server.
