Flash CS3:
Course Overview
In this exciting new teen specific course you will visually design games in Flash , make them come alive with ActionScript, and then put them online to share with your friends. This course will take students through the Flash design and Actionscript programming techniques required for online game
Building. Emphasis will be placed on conceptualizing and building multiple projects during the week including several simple games and culminating with a more complex action game. Students will leave with the ability to plan, create game artwork, design animations, and build the back-end
of their own online games.
The skills teens will take away from this summer camp — in artistic techniques, project preparation, programming, digital media workflow and audio — will translate to any multimedia project. Not only will teens gain technical production skills, they will be introduced to several important gaming concepts.
We highly recommend this summer computer camp for any teens interested in exploring the power of Flash for game design and creation.
Prerequisites
Mac/PC computer knowledge, video game interests, basic actionscript knowledge.
DMA’s Recommended Multiweek and Multilevel Course Tracks
Our courses are all built around the weeklong immersion format and can be taken in multi-week tracks. DMA's multiweek/multilevel tracks allow you to gain a great deal of knowledge and skills in a particular topic and progress from beginning to advanced levels. The suggested tracks below are just a few of the many course combinations that are available. You may even want to try a completely different topic each week over multiple weeks. To build your own course track, please go to our Stanford schedule page.
