DMA Instructor Sjon Ueckert

After 18 years as a professional musician, Sjon decided to go to college. He graduated from the Film School at the University of Texasin 1980, served a term as the New Mexico Film Commissioner and entered the Feature Film Industry, starting as a Location Manager and ending up as a First Assistant Director. Then the editing bug struck.

Sjon has been involved with Final Cut Pro since its inception. As well as editing many music videos, documentaries and television programs, Sjon is also a developer for LiveType, designing and scripting Live Fonts.

Sjon is also heavily involved in writing, scoring and performing music. He plays trumpet, guitar and keyboards.
