This course provides new or self-taught users with a strong foundation in Maya® and its work flow. It ties together the methodology of Maya’s® work flow to enable more efficient production. Maya® is the world’s leading 3D package for feature film production and is also a standard for the video-game industry. Because of its broad and deep tool set, Maya® is the choice of thousands of game artists, film makers, illustrators, architects and digital artists (to name just a few types of creative professionals that use Maya®).

In this course you’ll learn about the software’s interface and production pipeline, plus get hands-on experience with the core aspects of 3D production: modeling, materials, lighting and rendering. Polygonal modeling will be explored through this course, as well as material creation and management and how it relates to effective UV layouts. All of these assets will be lit with theory-based hands-on lighting and rendering exercises. This course is a comprehensive overview of Maya® fundamentals and will open the door to a whole new world of efficient and powerful digital creation.
