Final Cut Pro X ® is a revolutionary new video editing application. This five-day, hands-on course teaches you how to perform basic editing functions while becoming familiar with its unique user interface. FCP 200 is a five-day class, allowing for comprehensive coverage of the subject. You’ll learn everything from basic organization and editing, working with video and audio, titles and effects, to finish and share your projects. Students will use a variety of different types of media from documentary to narrative fiction. You will also have the opportunity to edit your own personal project and are encouraged to bring your own FCP compatible media.

This course is based on DMA’s FCP 101: Introduction to Final Cut Pro X® course. However, the lessons are covered in five days, providing more comprehensive coverage of the material and time for individualized one-on-one instruction.

• Creating Keyword and Smart Collections to organize media
• Using the Magnetic Timeline for an exceptionally fast, fluid new way to edit
• Combining multiple elements into a single Compound Clip
• Fine tuning clips in the timeline with the Precision Editor
• Comparing alternate shots from a collection of clips using Auditions
• Applying effects, transitions & retiming clips
• Finishing and final output

This course is designed for anyone looking to edit professional-quality video with Final Cut Pro X and who prefers hands-on and interactive instruction to best explore its functionality.

Knowledge of OS X and Basic Computer Navigation. Basic Knowledge of Editing Terminology is Highly Recommended.

Course may vary slightly based on student expertise & class interest. All students work on their own personal projects, which they keep.
