Learn Documentary Filmmaking Techniques from Filmmaking Professionals

Get a comprehensive overview of digital documentary filmmaking, from philosophy through production and editing. The course is a fast-paced mix of screenings, demonstrations and hands-on experience with some of the best digital filmmaking tools available today—including professional HD cameras, pro audio gear, portable lighting kits, professional tripods and Final Cut Studio® for post-production and editing.

Learn advanced shooting techniques, and how to use microphones and audio-recording equipment in the field. Plus, you’ll learn professional post-production strategies and documentary work flow while getting professional instruction to effectively tell stories using the documentary format. Explore storytelling methods and creative approaches to documentary as well as research, scripting and practical technical issues.
